An organic certification is an official endorsement that verifies a product complies with organic standards throughout all stages of production, from cultivation to packaging. These certifications are issued by independent and accredited organizations. The goal is to ensure that consumers can easily distinguish products that are truly organic.
Before a product is labeled “organic,” it undergoes inspections at numerous stages, from the farm fields to the production facility. The genetics of the seeds used, the method of soil fertilization, the harvest time, the processing method, and even the packaging material must all meet specific criteria.
In Turkey, the organic certification process is overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In the international market, certifications such as EU Organic, USDA Organic, or Ecocert are recognized. These certifications guarantee that the product is truly chemical-free, environmentally responsible, and produced in an eco-friendly manner.
